A few days ago I had the privilege of doing an engagement session with my good friends Lauren and Derrel. Lauren is a graduating senior at UCI, on the cross country/track team, and I have know her for four years now!
Last spring at the request of her roommates I got some pictures of her and Derrel when he proposed on the beach (neither of them knew it at the time). It was one of those right place, right time stories and I was glad to have captured the moment!
Here are a bunch from Tuesday afternoon. We went for a nice walk up in the foothills in Alta Dena and finished the evening with a few shots on the Pasadena Bridge. It was a beautiful day and we had a lot of fun. I know its somewhat of a long post but I had a hard time picking my favorites :)
I am very excited to shoot their wedding this August and be a part of their big day! Congrats you guys!

Curtis and Natalie Engaged!
Here are a bunch more from the engagement session I did last week with Curtis and Natalie. We went down to San Juan Capistrano and found some beautiful spots. The lighting was unreal and they were a very easy couple to shoot. The combination of the two made my job easy :)
I have known Curtis for four years now. He was a 5th year senior when I was a freshman and now I am a 5th year so it has gone full circle. He really took me under his wing and has made a big impact on my life as a role model.
I am so excited to shoot their wedding this August and am even more excited for the two of them starting their life together! They are great together and it was a blast hanging out with them for the afternoon.
Enjoy!

New U Photographers
Last November I began to shoot for the New University, the official newspaper at U.C. Irvine. I thought it would be a good opportunity to get some experience and use my talents for my school but mostly it gave me an excuse to be out taking pictures.
Last night was the last meeting of the quarter and after we went out to Aldrich Park to take some head shots to use for press-passes etc. Most of us are used to being behind the camera and don't like our pictures taken so it was definitely a good step out of the comfort zone :)
The whole team wasn't there but here are some shots of those who were. It has been fun getting to know these people better and I am looking forward to working with them Spring Quarter!
This is Drew McCarroll in the New U office before we went outside. He is the Photography Editor which makes him my boss. He's been a good friend and pretty much runs the show.
This is Scott Roeder, one of the New U's best sports photographers. He has really challenged me to keep my game up, especially when shooting the sports events. You can see more of his work here.
