Ryan + Rachel Engagement

Ryan and Rachel are a great couple I know from high school. They were both in my graduating class and have been together since our high school days! It is always fun to see old friends and I am very excited for their wedding this Summer up in Northern California. For the engagement pictures, we started down on Balboa Island and finished in Newport Beach by the pier. We got "The Original" Balboa bars, walked around town, then took the ferry over to the Peninsula. It was a beautiful afternoon and definitely a fun session!

Andrew: Senior Portraits

I recently had the chance to take some senior portraits of Andrew down in Laguna Beach. Andrew is graduating this year and is planning to study art in college. We picked a beautiful day for an outdoor shoot, found some cool backgrounds around the town and ended down at the beach around sunset. It was a nice change of pace for me to have an individual subject as I am so often shooting couples and families. I was happy with how the pictures came out...here are some of my favorites!

Mark + Laura: Wedding

This Summer I had the opportunity to shoot Mark and Laura's Wedding in Carlsbad, CA. They tied the knott at Levyland which was a really cool location. The ceremony was down on the beach which was just a short walk from the house. This was my first time shooting a beach ceremony and it was beautiful to be on the sand with the waves crashing in the background...and of course the weather was perfect! One of my favorite parts of this wedding was all the details and how they all worked together for the beach themed day. I had a lot of great shots to pick from so this post is pretty long. Hopefully that will make up for me not blogging in a while...

A quick portrait session in the rose garden by the house and in the fields around it. We even got one with the train coming by!

First dance and reception:

After the reception Mark and Laura were feeling adventurous so they went down to the beach to take a dip in the ocean with their wedding clothes on. It was a blast and we got some fun - and somewhat unique - pictures. They did the same thing at the end of their Engagement Session down in Laguna Beach last year so it was a fitting way to finish the wedding!
