Vinh + Lida Day After

Vinh and Lida are one of my favorite couples I have had the privilege to shoot, so when they asked for a "day after" portrait session, I made sure to stay an extra day to squeeze it in before I left for Honduras and Guatemala. They were out in CA a week after their Wedding in Louisiana to have a reception with their family/friends out here and it worked out perfectly.

We went down to Laguna Beach on a beautiful afternoon and had a great time. I love taking pictures of these two because they have such a great connection that is obvious in all the pictures. It definitely makes my job easy!

Enjoy...

Archives

I was going through some old pictures on my computer just now and came across a couple from my backpacking trip last summer that caught my eye.

Hope you are having a great week!

Nadia and Phil's 80's Dance Party Wedding

Phil and Nadia decided to tie the knot in the beginning of June and I was fortunate to be a part of their big day. Phil and Nadia are a fun couple to be around because they are so full of energy! Their wedding day was very untraditional and consisted of an 7 mile bike ride down Sunset Blvd. followed by a 80's themed dance party! Talk about a fun day! I had never heard of anything like it and was sure what to expect but it ended up being a great day and was a blast to shoot! Here is how it went:

Things started at Phil and Nadia's apartment where the guests and bikes began to gather:

When was the last time you saw 30+ people riding bikes through LA dressed in 80's costumes? The tiger mask was by far my favorite of the day!

The ride was a blast! I sat in the back of a pickup truck taking pictures while my brother drove. A once in a lifetime experience for sure!

Unfortunately we got stopped by a few policemen who made us get out of the truck bed and almost cited my brother. We were driving less than 8 miles an hour but they were pretty serious so we didn't argue. The good news was that it was getting pretty dark by then and there wasn't much light left for pictures. I'm glad we had the time we did while it was still evening.

The reception/dance party was at the Marvimon House. It was a pretty sweet little club.

All in all I'd say it was a pretty successful day! Congrats Nadia and Phil!
